1st / 2nd Grade
Stingers Black
Foundational skill building and court spacing.
Our youngest squad. Everything is built around fundamentals: ball handling, footwork, passing, and learning how to move and space the floor as a team.

Grades 1-6 across four squads, one standard. Every player gets developed, and every player gets to play.
Our league is organized by grade level so kids compete and practice with their own age group. Practices run Sunday at Copernicus Indoor Gym plus weeknights, with Saturday game days.

Why Two 3rd/4th Grade Teams
Putting 16+ kids on one team means each player gets only 2–3 minutes of court time a game. That's not development — that's a jersey. Two squads guarantee full game reps for everyone.
When football players have games: Grey players sub in for Yellow so no game is ever forfeited.
When football players are free: they play with Yellow and Grey plays its own game.
When Yellow and Grey face each other: it's fair, balanced competition focused on growth — not a scoreboard chase.
"This is not about chasing a ring; it's about development, reps, and player experience."
